symposium + tour

In November 2005, Preservation Greensboro, Inc., the Weatherspoon Art Museum, and UNCG’s Department of Interior Architecture co-sponsored the Loewenstein Legacy House Tour and Symposium. Over the course of two days, property owners graciously shared their well-loved residences as more than 525 Modernism enthusiasts toured eight houses and another 380 individuals attended lectures by Richard W. Longstreth (Professor of American Civilization, George Washington University) and Patrick Lee Lucas.

In 2013, a second Loewenstein Legacy House Tour and Symposium will take place 10-13 October featuring nine houses and talks by Sandy Isenstadt (Professor of Art History, University of Delaware), Cynthia de Miranda (MdM Consultants, Raleigh), and Patrick Lee Lucas (Director and Associate Professor, University of Kentucky School of Interiors). Sally Shader Warther (UNCG, MS History) and Karyn Reilly (UNCG, MS Interior Architecture) serve as co-chairs for the tour. For more information:
